R1: Enhanced and adapted version of the European supported employment model specifically related to the counseling and guidance of refugees and immigrants

By its objectives and planned project deliverables, our project is coming as innovative approach and solution in the same time to tackle the labour exclusion of the refugees and immigrants by creation of an accessible and supportive labour market pathway by implementing the career guidance methods as part of the 5 stages process of the supported employment model. Whereas some of the member states have considerable (and positive) experiences with the concept of Supported Employment the countries such as new members states (Bulgaria) did not make so far any use of this concept to link refugees and immigrants with the labour market. This innovation is invented by our partner Consultis as European Union of Supported Employment (EUSE) member. It is necessarily to ensure a two-way process of adaptation for both migrants and host societies. The supported employment model provided by the EUSE  is a possible method, that is now adapted and further enhanced in order to support the local career counsellors and supported employment consultants on the 5 steps process – Engagement, Vocational Profiling, Job Finding, Employer Engagement and On/ Off Job Support. During our project implementation we have trained career counsellors and Supported employment consultants on how to tackle the labour exclusion of the refugees and immigrants by creation of an accessible and supportive labour market pathway. All necessarily information and guidance is available in this result.

R2: Career counseling guidelines for career counsellors and supported employment consultants to support the realisation of the process of their labour market inclusion

More effective guidance provided by this deliverable is assisting the development of a knowledge economy and benefit individuals, employers and society at large. Effective career guidance is important not only for individuals but also for the organizations that provide employment for them. For both of them it is part of a strategy of achieving resilience to handle change more effectively. Understanding how to motivate employees and knowledge workers in particular, is likely to be a critical factor for organizational success. Paying attention to the career guidance will be vital not only for skill development but also to help motivate superior performance at work by giving disabled people a clearer sense of direction and purpose.

The guide consists of several tools and guidance materials, which can be directly implemented by the career counselors and supported employment consultants of refugees and immigrants. Take a look and use it in your practice.

R4: Blended trainings in Portugal and Bulgaria

We have invented the experience of the European union of supported employment, which representative is our Portuguese partner Consultis via APEA network. With these project activities we have adapted and enhanced the European supported employment model to create adaptive pathway for labour market inclusion of refugees and immigrants. For that purpose we have trained 20 career counsellors (10 in each country) on relevant career counseling guidelines to support the realisation of the process of their labour market inclusion. With this activity we have improved the provision of further qualification opportunities for VET providers and trainers by provision of methodological guidelines for further qualification of career counsellors and supported employment consultants. As a result 24 career counsellors and supported employment consultants successfully completed the training provided by the consortium.
