During the public presentation of the “Annual Report on Employment and Vocational Training, 2022” by the Centre for Labour Relations on 12 July, a debate titled “A look at the data on professional qualifications” took place. In this context, Conceição Matos, the Director of the Vocational Training Department of the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training, suggested establishing a one-stop shop to expedite the recognition of qualifications for immigrants entering Portugal. She emphasised, “We won’t be able to integrate immigrants if their qualifications aren’t recognised. We need to speed up the process of recognising qualifications, potentially through the creation of a one-stop shop.”.
